About Us

Diagnostic Imaging Inc. (DII) was founded in 1975 and has grown to be the largest private practice radiology group in the city of Philadelphia, serving clients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

With a thirty-five year history of steady growth and success, a continued commitment to deliver state-of-the-art radiology services and a drive to strengthen alliances with its referral base, DII looks to the future, optimistic that it will continue to broaden its reach, foster new physician relationships and deliver radiology services of the highest caliber to the Philadelphia region and beyond. In September of 2011, DII took a major step in this regard by joining the vRad® Radiology Alliance, the premier integrated national specialty network for radiology. The vRad Alliance program provides DII with innovative technology infrastructure and unparalleled clinical and operational support.

Our History and Service Area

DII's first affiliate was Aria Health, formerly known as the Frankford Healthcare System, a three-campus hospital with two outpatient imaging centers.   The Torresdale Campus, an acute Level II Trauma Center, serves the greater Northeast Philadelphia region; the Bucks and Frankford Campuses serve Lower Bucks County and the Frankford and Mayfair sections of Philadelphia, respectively.

DII continues its long standing commitment to Aria Health, and since 2002, has experienced steady growth by acquiring additional exclusive contracts to provide radiology services for several area hospitals including:

• Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, PA
• Easton Hospital, Easton, PA (Interventional Radiology Services only)
• Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, PA
• Pottstown Memorial Medical Center in Pottstown, PA
• Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton in Hamilton, NJ
• Roxborough Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, PA
• Schuylkill Health in Pottsville, PA  (Interventional Radiology Services only)
• Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ

This expansion has allowed DII to extend its service area from Philadelphia to the surrounding suburbs of Lower Bucks, Chester, Montgomery and Schuylkill Counties, and across the Delaware River into New Jersey, and with that extension, to develop new and important relationships with referring physicians from those areas.

Our Radiologists

DII is comprised of over sixty Board-Certified Radiologists, 80% of whom have subspecialty training encompassing all areas of radiology. Radiologists with thirty or more years experience as well as newly trained graduates from some of the nation's most prestigious fellowships and residencies bring the best of diagnostic and therapeutic radiology services to the Philadelphia region. As a member of the vRad Alliance, our clients and patients benefit from the shared expertise of over 400 radiologists spanning all radiology subspecialties.

Our State-of-the-Art Technology

DII enjoys a long tradition of participation in leading edge technological advances. For example, it was the first group in the area to utilize a universal PACS (Picture Archive Communication System), the first to acquire a multi-slice CT detector, and the first to provide non-invasive Coronary CT Angiography. More recently, DII was one of the first practices to provide Therasphere® liver cancer treatment.  Our commitment to bring the latest in technological advances to our patient population continues as a member of the vRad Alliance.
